Travel Bottles

Travel Bottles a Must Have Item

With more and more people taking to the air these days as their primary means of travel, and regional airlines are limiting our carry on baggage size due to smaller commuting aircraft. It is important that we are able to pack efficiently and smartly by using a few simple techniques. Throughout this blog I will introduce various ideas and tips to make your travel easier. As a seasoned regular traveller, I visit up to seven or eight countries a month, I will make suggestions  that have made traveling easier and more comfortable for me. In todays post I will explain the reason why Travel Bottles are an essential item for today’s traveler.

Three Good Reasons to Use Travel Bottles

There are three very good reasons why I use travel bottles and the first is so that I don’t have a nasty surprise waiting for me at the destination when I open my bag. Regardless of whether your bag is checked or carry on it will be subjected to the same increased pressure due to high altitude flight. Sometimes the particular liquid’s or gel’s container can withstand this pressure but more often than not it won’t. I have seen some just leak and some have actually exploded. Descent quality travel bottles will eliminate this problem completely giving you piece of mind for your flight.

Back in August of 2006 a terrorist bomber was caught trying to smuggle liquid explosive onto an airliner. Since that time the TSA in the United States and most other countries around the world have adopted rules for the amount of liquids, gels and aerosols that can be carried onboard an aircraft. Remember this rule is only for carry on luggage and not checked luggage. For business travelers who do not want the inconvenience of waiting for luggage at the carousel, or for travelers needing to take medicine or even moisturising cream. This means you!

It is called the 3-1-1 rule. You may only carry 3 ounce bottles (100 ml) or smaller in 1 quart size zip top bag per 1 traveller.  This is in order to reduce the volume of liquids, gels and aerosols in order to eliminate the threat of them being used as an explosive device

The final reason why I use travel bottles is for efficiency. If I force myself to take the time to transfer what I need to take with me from the original large bottles into my smaller Travel Bottles then I am saving a lot of space. I can either travel lighter or take something else with me that I couldn’t normally take. Remember that carry on luggage is weighed today the same as checked baggage is.

As a final tip be sure to purchase travel bottles that are of reasonable quality, there are many cheap brands available which may or may not survive your trips. At the very least ensure that those you buy are leak and shatter proof and it is imperative that they show the volume imprinted on the side. This one tip could save you a big hassle at the security checkpoint on your next flight.

Travel Size Toiletries

Packing Tips – Travel Size Toiletries

Are you packing for a trip? Travel size toiletries might be something you’re considering.   Not only are they convenient but they’re going to take up less room and less weight. If you are travelling via air travel, there will probably be requirements on what you’re allowed to bring in terms of size, type and quantity. Regardless of whether you’re travelling by air, train, boat, car, or on foot, here are some travel tips that could help you:

  • Use all purpose items, wherever possible. You’ll find some great combination shampoo / body wash products. These are great travel Accessories as you can wash up easily and take up less space.
  • Limit liquid products as there are usually rules about how much you can bring. There are great towelettes that can be packed and when you wet them, they lather up. This is a dry item so won’t be governed by the rules about how many liquids you can pack. Another alternative is wet wipes and you can also find towelettes that come in capsules that take up minimal space.
  • Dry makeup products can be better as well. Bring the bare minimum. Instead of liquid foundation, could you bring mineral makeup? You can find some great travel cosmetic palates that include blush, shadow, pressed powder and lip gloss in a small case that makes it easier to carry and easier for packing as well as resulting in less weight.
  • Put liquids into a zippered plastic. Use travel size toiletries travel bottles, if possible, as they won’t break open during travel, but a zippered bag is still a wise additional safeguard against leaks.

You don’t have to overdo it on travel size toiletries if you’re staying in a decent hotel as the vast majority will provide these items as a courtesy but carrying a few items with you can help you freshen up on the go as well as have you prepared in case you have any delays during your travels.

Travel Accessories

Travel Accessories You’ll Want

Are you travelling? Whether by plane, boat, car, RV, bus, train, or on foot with a backpack on your back, there are definitely some travel accessories that can make your life more convenient. Here are four that you will want to consider:

A Travel Vest

A travel vest is a great item for anyone doing plane, train, or bus travel but it’s also great for tourists who want to explore new areas. You’ve got many pockets for your cash, ID, traveller’s cheques, cell phone, and more. And if you’re flying, there are places for your boarding pass and some even have pockets big enough for a netbook or tablet computer.

Travel Bottles

Taking toiletries with you might be important. Not all toiletries are allowed to go with you, especially aerosol cans. There are travel accessories known as travel bottles that are the perfect size for regulation purposes, and easy to pack.  And some are designed to be perfect for flying because they’ll work well in the increased pressure so you won’t have to worry about them bursting in your bagage.

Travel Towels

Travel towels might not seem necessary if you’re staying at a hotel but many people buy one for their carry on baggage to be able to freshen up on their travels and if your trip involves camping, it’s very smart to include a travel towel as part of your travel accessories. They dry fast, are very absorbent, and if designed especially for travel they will be antibacterial as well.

A Swiss Army Knife with Extras

The Swiss Army knife has always been a must have for RV’ers, campers, and backpackers.  Not only does it have the standard swiss army elements like scissors, nail file, corkscrew and screwdriver but you could also get deluxe ones with a flash light, ballpoint pen, a USB flash drive, and even an FM radio.

Whether packing light or heavily, there are some great travelling accessories that will help you with organisation and convenience.  Bon Voyage!

What are your must-have travel accessories?

Travel Towel

Need a Travel Towel?

If you do a lot of travelling, any old towel probably won’t do. If you instead look at a travel towel, you’ll find that there are benefits to buying one. Read on:

Travel Towel Benefits:

Highly Absorbent – Hotel towels aren’t always lush and luxurious and made of Egyptian cotton. Sometimes hotel and motel towels are paper thin and feel like sandpaper.  Towels made especially for travelling have some great features and benefits, such as being highly absorbent, and aren’t just good for packing in your suitcase. You might want to pack them in your carry-on if you are on a long flight and /or just want to freshen up while travelling on a plane, in a car, on a bus, or on a train.

Quick Dry – Say goodbye to wet towels in the suitcase or backpack! Specialty towels that are designed for travelling are constructed of materials that make them dry faster than the average bath towel. Often two or three times faster! This is great for the fact that you may be stuffing it into your suitcase fairly soon after using it. You don’t want a damp towel in your bag creating bacteria, making your bag start to smell bad (and transferring the scent of the wet towel to the other items in your bag or suitcase), and being useless the next day. Quick dry towels are great for any type of travel.

Antibacterial and Odourless – Another thing that goes along with drying quick is the antibacterial aspect of towels designed for travellers.

Some travel towels also fit into very small spaces, such as rolling up into tubes or at the very least taking up a small amount of space and weighing very little.

If you’re looking for a travel towel, you’ll find a variety of colours and sizes available. The right one for you may depend on whether or not you’re back packing or putting it in a suit case but there are a wide variety of options available to choose from.

Travel Vest

The Travel Vest – A Great Travel Accessory

Travelling isn’t always smooth sailing when you’re carrying a lot with you. A travel vest is a great accessory if you travel a lot. Read on for some of the benefits of buying travel vests:

Convenience

These vests have many pockets that make it much easier for you to travel. Instead of digging through your belongings to find money, your boarding pass, your ID, and other things you’ll need at various points in your travels, you can simply reach into a pocket for them. Because they contain numerous pockets, they don’t feel all bulky and because you won’t be rummaging through one bag for various items there’s less of a chance of dropping important things or revealing everything that you’ve got (for example, showing the world your cash as you dig for your boarding pass).

Like an Extra Carry On

Carry-on luggage slows you down through security. With a travel vest, this can go much quicker and much smoother. Various vests range in number of pockets from a few to more than 20, so it’s easy to get and stay organised for your travels. Most are comfortable, stylish, and wrinkle resistant as well.

Security

Travel vests have plenty of places to put things and they’re generally all securable with zippers. Some travel vests are even equipped with pockets big enough for an iPad or other tablet computer and are ergonomic in design so that you can carefully carry your vest when not wearing it in such a way that won’t put contained belongings at risk. Travelling light or heavy, you want security for your valuables and your important documents and the right vest could help in that regard.

Read Travel Vest Reviews to Find the Right One

If you’re trying to find a travel vest that looks good and that’s got all the functionality you want, you’ll want to check out some reviews and features. The web can offer you many reviews to peruse as well as photos of various available vests so you can choose one with all the features and functions you’re looking for.
